1.Pokhara International Convention Center
The proposed project aims to build an International Convention and Exhibition Center in Pokhara, Nepal. Alongside, it will include a five-star hotel, restaurants, a museum, and a children’s park. The project is expected to make Nepal more attractive as a hub for Meetings, Incentive, Conventions, and Exhibition (MICE) tourism. The center’s facilities will be designed to host various types and sizes of conventions, conferences, exhibitions, trade shows, and meetings, meeting the increasing demand in this sector. Pokhara’s natural beauty and Nepal’s growing expertise in organizing MICE tourism events have fueled the demand and show promising potential.

2.Chandragiri Chitlang Palung Chitwan Expressway
The proposed expressway project is a large infrastructure development initiative undertaken by the Government of Nepal, aimed at enhancing the national transportation network. At present, the existing road infrastructure spanning 150 kilometers connects Chitwan and Kathmandu, necessitating roughly 5 hours of travel time. This expressway is designed to connect these two major hubs through an advanced road system incorporating tunnels and bridges, effectively reducing the travel distance to less than 100 kilometers and cutting down travel time to approximately an hour. Positioned as a strategic priority, the project is intended to catalyze economic growth and leverage Nepal’s geographical advantage for improved regional connectivity. By offering a fast and safe transportation route, it promises significant benefits in terms of economic activity enhancement and road safety improvement across the region.

3.Janaki Heritage Hotel and Cultural Village Project,Janakpur
The Janaki Heritage Hotel and Cultural Village Project in Janakpur is designed to cater to destination wedding tourism. 5.Sudurpashchim Public Transport Project
The Sudurpashchim Public Transport Project focuses on enhancing transportation infrastructure in Sudurpashchim Province to address existing challenges such as weak urban infrastructure, inefficient transport systems, and traffic congestion. The project aims to address the demandsupply gap with electric buses and upgraded facilities, with a pre-feasibility study in 2023 estimating a daily demand of 48,215 passengers. The project is expected to boost income, employment, and economic growth in the region.

6.Development and Construction of BabarmahalAdministrative Plaza
The Babarmahal Administrative Plaza project in Nepal is a visionary initiative aimed at accommodating various government offices affiliated under different ministries of Government of Nepal. An 18-story state-of-the-art building, situated on a site spanning 30,021 square meters, is designed to provide high-quality and convenient services to the public and various concerned bodies, thereby optimizing administrative processes and public service delivery.

7.Naumure Multipurpose Project
The Naumure Multipurpose Project integrates three hydro schemes: Naumure (218.34MW), Lamatal (8MW), and Surainaka (54.7MW), alongside the Kapilvastu Irrigation System which harnesses the potential of West Rapti River. It covers the existing irrigation system of Duekhuri Valley (10,800ha) and Banke (42,766ha), including the proposed Kapilvastu Irrigation System (29,736ha). The Kapilvastu Irrigation System diverts water from the West Rapti River, serving areas of Kapilvastu district encompassing 29,736 hectares, supporting diverse agricultural activities.

8.Kaligandaki-2 Storage Hydropower Project
The Kali Gandaki 2 is a storage scheme hydropower project designed to harness the energy potential of Kaligandaki River. The Kali Gandaki 2 Storage Hydropower Project lies in Tanhau, Papla, Nawalpur and Syangja district of Gandaki and Lumbini Province with installed capacity of 650 MW and total annual generation of 3294.6 GWh. The proposed dam site area is about 180 Km away from Kathmandu and 30 km away from the nearest airport Bharatpur Airport, Chitwan. The project would attract religious tourists and other recreational activities since the Kali Gandaki River is a religious river for Hindus. This project has multiple benefits such as hydropower, irrigation, and tourism and will provide multifaceted benefits to the local community and wider economic landscape. At present the study of this project is in Interim Draft Report phase.

9.Khimti Those Siwalaya Storage Hydropower Project
The Khimti Those Siwalaya Storage Hydropower Project (KTSSHPP) in Nepal’s Dolakha and Ramechhap districts is strategically located upstream of the operational Khimti-I Hydropower Project (60MW) and the upcoming Khimti-II Hydropower Project (48MW) with a capacity of 1216MW and an annual energy output of 1411.35GWh. The project area is reachable by a motorable road. The proposed dam site sits 10 km upstream from Khimti Bazar, near the confluence of Khimti and Tamakoshi Rivers. Khimti Bazar lies 14 km north of Manthali, a 4-hour drive away, which is approximately 100 km from Kathmandu via the Khurkot-Dhulikhel route (BP Highway). The road features single lanes with occasional passing niches. Access to the proposed dam area near Those Village is also possible from Kathmandu via motorable roads, with the reservoir area accessible from Those, Siwalaya, and Garjhyang Rural Municipality.

10.Bharbhung Storage Hydropower Project
The Bharbhung Storage Hydropower Project is a storage scheme hydropower which harnesses the energy potential Thuli Bheri River. The project lies in Dopla district with installed capacity of 337.1MW and total energy generation of 943.9GWh. Dunai, the headquarters of the Dolpa district, is the nearest to the project. The proposed dam site lies nearly 28 km from Dunai. It takes about 3 hours walk from Dunai Bazar. The project site can also be accessed through Juphal airport. The Juphal airport is approximately 12 km away from Dunai.

11.Daiji Industrial Park
The proposed industrial district has been envisioned to establish and facilitate industries and expedite the industrialization process in Sudurpaschim province. Daiji industrial district plans to develop 100 plots for establishing industries specifically in agriculture, minerals, electronic and electrical industries. The project aims to encourage industrial investors by providing developed land, buildings, water, electricity, access roads, drainage and other industrial infrastructure to operate their industries. This Industrial District will improve industrial output and productivity, make use of local expertise, available resources, and promotes export.

12.Gautam Buddha Maternity Hospital
Nepal has been identified to have significant potential in the field of medical tourism due to various factors such as the country’s natural beauty, diverse climatic conditions, and cost-effective healthcare services. With the prospects of catering to medical tourists visiting the renowned Lumbini Heritage Site, the Gautam Buddha Maternity Hospital project in Lumbini Province aims to create a state-of-the-art healthcare facility specializing in maternity services, attracting medical tourists to boost healthcare and tourism revenue. This involves building modern infrastructure, including Mayadevi wellness center, meeting international standards for advanced healthcare.

13.Mahadev Khola
Impounding reservoir like the purposed Mahadev Khola Water Impounding Reservoir project are one of the remedies for the mounting impacts of climate change. This initiative aims to construct a dam for seasonal storage serving the settlements of Mahadev khola watershed, spanning suburban towns of Changunarayan Municipality and neighboring Bhaktapur Municipality that can help to ensure a regulated availability of water primarily for drinking and other domestic purposes throughout the year. Alongside facilitating irrigation activities within the watershed, it integrates infrastructure for recreation (Nagarkot Falls) around the impounded reservoir, utilizing surplus water flows beyond drinking water requirements.
