回首百年路，迈向新征程

2021年6月24日，驻菲律宾使馆临时代办檀勍生在英文报纸《马尼拉公报》、《马尼拉时报》和华文报纸《世界日报》、《商报》、《联合日报》等上刊发题为《回首百年路，迈向新征程》的署名文章。全文如下：

1921年7月，在半殖民地、半封建社会的旧中国，一群平均年龄不过28岁的年轻人，怀抱着坚定的信仰，肩负着救亡图存的使命，相聚在上海，建立了中国共产党。从1921年到2021年，中国共产党走过了整整一百年的历程。

正如菲律宾谚语所说，“不懂得回顾过去，就无法抵达未来。”在庆祝中国共产党成立100周年之际，习近平总书记前往中国共产党历史展览馆，参观“‘不忘初心、牢记使命’中国共产党历史展览”，并带领党员领导同志重温入党誓词。回首来时路的波澜壮阔苦难辉煌，方能更好地展望新征程。

中国共产党的一百年，是矢志践行初心使命的一百年。中国共产党的初心使命，就是为中国人民谋幸福，为中华民族谋复兴。百年来，中国共产党带领全国各族人民艰苦奋斗，推翻了帝国主义、封建主义和官僚资本主义，建立了人民共和国和社会主义制度，实行了改革开放，走上了有中国特色的社会主义发展道路，把中国从一个积贫积弱的半殖民地、半封建国家建设成世界第二大经济体，创造了世所罕见的发展奇迹。在中国共产党的领导下，中国经济实现腾飞，仅仅用几十年时间就走完了西方发达国家几百年走过的工业化历程，建立了世界上门类最全的现代工业体系，成为世界第二大经济体、第一大货物贸易国。中国如期实现了第一个百年发展目标，全面建成小康社会，彻底消灭了绝对贫困，实现了“人类历史上最伟大的经济革命”。

中国共产党的一百年，是与民同心为民谋福的一百年。习近平总书记指出，人民对美好生活的向往，就是我们奋斗的目标。中国共产党是代表中国人民整体利益的使命党，这与西方制度下的政党完全不同。在多党制国家，一个政党往往代表部分群体利益，是“部分利益党”和“选举政治党”，主要致力于赢得选票、上台执政、维护特定群体利益。而中国共产党则是代表中国最广大人民的根本利益，践行“为人民服务”的宗旨。中国共产党始终把人民放在心中最高位置，坚持全体人民实现共同富裕的方向，始终做到发展为了人民、发展依靠人民、发展成果由人民共享，维护人民根本利益，激发全体人民积极性、主动性、创造性，促进社会公平，增进民生福祉，不断实现人民对美好生活的向往。

中国共产党的一百年，是兼济天下坚定担当的一百年。新中国摈弃传统大国走过的殖民老路，始终奉行独立自主的和平外交政策。我们坚持走对话不对抗、结伴不结盟的国与国交往新路，在和平共处五项原则基础上拓展同各国的友好合作。我们坚持国家无论大小、贫富、强弱一律平等，尊重各国人民自主选择发展道路的权利，反对以强凌弱、唯我独尊。中国作为世界上最大的发展中国家和社会主义国家，正通过“一带一路”倡议帮助其他国家发展，以实际行动分享中国发展成果和中国的庞大市场，构建人类命运共同体。“一带一路”倡议提出7年多来，与伙伴国贸易总额超过7.8万亿美元、直接投资超过1100亿美元。中国连续三年举办进口博览会，让世界分享中国机遇。面对全球新冠肺炎疫情，中国向150多个国家和13个国际组织提供抗疫物资援助，克服自身困难向全球供应了3.5亿多剂疫苗。

2016年以来，中菲合作进展迅速，成绩显著。两国元首商定了近30个政府间合作大项目，其中12个已经完成，正在执行12个，其余正在规划之中，涵盖基础设施、禁毒、教育、农业等领域。中国已成为菲律宾最大的贸易伙伴和最主要的投资来源国之一。面对突如其来的新冠肺炎疫情，中菲两国守望相助、同舟共济，新时期伙伴关系得到进一步升华。

7月1日，我们将庆祝中国共产党成立百年华诞。“千淘万漉虽辛苦，吹尽狂沙始到金。”从成立之初仅有数十人的小党，到如今已发展成为拥有九千多万党员的执政大党，这本身就足以说明中国共产党的先进性、纯洁性、战斗性，足以说明中国共产党与中国人民同心同德血脉交融的鱼水之情。在以习近平同志为核心的党中央坚强领导下，中国人民必将在实现中华民族伟大复兴道路上创造出令世界刮目相看的新的更大奇迹！中国也将继续与菲律宾一同乘风破浪，谱写好邻居好朋友好伙伴的合作新篇。

Marching towards a New Centennial Journey

In July 1921, a group of young people with an average age of less than 28 years old, harboring firm beliefs and shouldering the mission of saving the nation, gathered in Shanghai and established the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the semi-colonial and semi-feudal society of old China. From 1921 to 2021, the CPC has traveled long distances in the past century.

As the Filipino proverb goes, “A person who does not remember where he came from will never reach his destination.” On the occasion of celebrating the centennial anniversary of the founding of the CPC, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders visited an exhibition on CPC history themed “staying true to the founding mission” at the Museum of the CPC in Beijing. Looking back at the magnificent achievements of the CPC leads to a better foresight of the future.

The past 100 years have seen the CPC unswervingly fulfilling its original aspiration and founding mission of seeking well-being for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation. The CPC has led the diligent Chinese people of all ethnic groups to overthrow imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucratic capitalism, established the People’s Republic of China and the socialist system, implemented reform and opening up, and embarked on a path of socialist development with Chinese characteristics. China has now become the world’s second largest economy and created unprecedented development miracles. China has realized industrialization in just a few decades, which took developed Western countries several centuries. China now has the most complete modern industrial system in the world. It is also the biggest trader in goods. China has achieved its first centenary development goal as scheduled by building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way, completely eliminating absolute poverty, and bringing to reality “the greatest economic revolution in human history.”

The past 100 years have seen the CPC consistently putting people’s overall interests and welfare as the top priority. General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping pointed out that to meet people’s desire for a happy life is the CPC’s mission. Unlike other political parties that usually represent the interests of particular groups and are parties of segmental interests and electoral politics, whose primary goal is to win the elections, and protect the interests of certain groups, the CPC represents the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the Chinese people and practices the motto of “serving the people”. Committed to the principle that development is for the people and reliant on the people, and all the fruits are shared by the people, the CPC safeguards people’s fundamental interests, stimulates the enthusiasm, initiative and creativity of the people as a whole, promotes social justice and people’s livelihood and continues to realize people’s wish for a better life.

The past 100 years have seen the CPC unwaveringly striving for the common good for the world. New China abandoned the obsolete colonialist path of Western powers. It always pursues an independent foreign policy of peace. China is committed to a new path of state-to-state engagement, which advocates dialogue and partnership, instead of confrontation or alliance. China seeks to enhance friendship and cooperation with all countries based on the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. China advocates equality among all countries, regardless of their size, wealth or strength. China respects the rights of people of all countries to choose their own development path. China opposes the strong bullying the weak or seeking supremacy. As the world’s largest developing and socialist country, China is helping other countries develop through the Belt and Road Initiative, sharing its own development achievements and huge market with other countries, and building a community with a shared future for mankind. In the past seven years since the Belt and Road Initiative was launched, China has registered more than 7.8 trillion US dollars in trade and 110 billion US dollars in direct investment with BRI partner countries. China has hosted the International Import Expo for three years to share its market with the world. In COVID-19 response, China has provided medical supplies to over 150 countries and 13 international organizations. Despite difficulties at home, China has provided over 350 million doses of vaccines to the world.

Since 2016, the China-Philippines relations have been flourishing under the guidance of our two heads of states. Practical cooperation across the board between two countries has made remarkable progress. So far, 12 government-to-government cooperation projects have been completed, 12 projects are under implementation and others going forward smoothly, covering such fields as infrastructure, anti-drug rehabilitation, education and agriculture. China remains the largest trading partner, the largest source of imports, the third largest export market and the second largest foreign investors of the Philippines. And our two governments and peoples have helped each other and joined hands to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, forging a closer China-Philippines partnership.

China will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC on July 1. From a small party with only a few people at the beginning of its establishment, to a ruling party with more than 90 million members, the CPC has achieved great success through persistent and unrelenting efforts. Under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, the Chinese people will surely create greater miracles on the road to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation! China will continue to ride the wind and cleave the waves with the Philippines and write a new chapter of cooperation with neighborliness, friendship and strong partnership!
