调研期间,王克文一行实地参观了枫叶教育集团深圳校区和集团校史馆,详细了解了学校的办学特色、教学环境和校园文化建设情况。
Wang Kewen Conducted Research Visit to Shenzhen Maple Leaf Educational Systems
On October 15, Mr. Wang Kewen, Deputy Secretary-General of CODA visited Shenzhen Maple Leaf Educational Systems, held in-depth discussions with the group's founder and Chairman, Dr. Ren Shuliang, on topics including the global expansion of K12 standard Chinese education and the globalization of international Chinese language education.
During the meeting, Chairman Ren Shuliang provided a detailed overview of the Maple Leaf Educational Systems's development history and educational achievements. As a pioneer and benchmark enterprise in China's international education sector, Maple Leaf has established nearly 100 schools in over 20 cities both domestically and internationally since its founding in 1995. The institution currently serves 36,000 students and has gathered a faculty and staff of more than 6,000 Chinese and international professionals. The group's self-developed "Maple Leaf World School Program" (MLWSP) has successfully filled the gap in China's international high school curriculum. Among its offerings, the "K12 Standard Chinese" curriculum and textbooks have received applicability certification from Hanban International's HSK examination, establishing them as national-level standard teaching materials for international Chinese education. These resources have been successfully implemented in several countries including Thailand, Mongolia, and Turkey, receiving widespread recognition from local education departments and students. Chairman Ren expressed his hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to collaborate with the Association in promoting Chinese standard curriculum systems worldwide, enabling more overseas students to benefit from high-quality Chinese language education services.
Ms. Wang Kewen emphasized that with the deepening advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative, participating countries are increasingly prioritizing educational cooperation and exchanges with China, leading to growing demand for cross-cultural talent and Chinese language education. She noted that the "K12 Standard Chinese" curriculum independently developed by the Maple Leaf Group not only provides standardized courses for non-native Chinese learners at the basic education stage but also incorporates numerous cultural projects, thematic activities, and large-scale competitions. These elements continuously stimulate students' learning interest and cultivate both language skills and cross-cultural communication abilities, enabling more international youth to "learn Chinese and understand China." This initiative plays a positive role in promoting the global dissemination of Chinese language and culture.
During the research visit, Ms. Wang Kewen and the delegation conducted an on-site inspection of the Shenzhen campus and the history museum, where gained detailed insights into the school's educational characteristics, teaching environment, and campus culture development.
