He Zhenwei held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Embassy of Seychelles

In the afternoon of April 20, President He Zhenwei and his delegation visited the Embassy of Seychelles in China, a "Tropical Paradise", and held a meeting with the new Ambassador Ms. Anne Lafortune.

He Zhenwei introduced the basic information of CODA to the Ambassador, and expressed his hope that Ambassador Anne Lafortune could attend the 13th China Overseas Investment Fair (COIFAIR) and the Clean Energy Expo China（CEEC）2022, so as to learn more about China's foreign investment policies. At the same time, He Zhenwei exchanged views with the Ambassador on the China-East Africa Investment Cooperation Forum to be held in the first half of this year.

Ambassador Anne Lafortune welcomed President He Zhenwei and his delegation and said that since her arrival in October last year, she has paid attention to the invitation on the 13th COIFAIR sent by CODA and said that she will attend the opening ceremony and related activities this year. In the future, she would participate more in the activities held by CODA to promote Seychelles and attract more Chinese enterprises to invest in Seychelles.

Since the carrying out of direct flights between China and Seychelles in 2016, the Seychelles government has been committed to developing more direct flights for Chinese tourists to visit and invest in Seychelles. In recent years, Seychelles has developed high-end island tourism, which is not only a paradise for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts, but also a hikers’ paradise and a rock-climbing adventure destination for tourists. Seychelles is also actively practicing the concept of sustainable development while developing its tourism industry. Currently, fishing is one of the main drivers of its economic development, with a 57% year-on-year increase in fish catching and a 14% year-on-year increase in canned tuna production in 2020.
